Letter vs A4 for printable mazes

Most maze worksheets only need one clean default. Use Letter when you print mainly in the United States, use A4 when the page is headed to international classrooms, and keep the layout open enough that the path stays readable at a glance.

Choose Letter when

You print at home in the US, build classroom packets on common office printers, or want the safest default for fast worksheet output.

Choose A4 when

You print for international classrooms, already work in an A4 paper workflow, or need better alignment with non-US teacher resources.

Avoid the wrong default when

The maze sits too close to the edge, margins feel cramped, or the printable page changes scale unexpectedly between printers.

Practical rule of thumb

  • Use Letter as the home-printer default.
  • Use A4 when the worksheet will be reused outside the US.
  • Preview one page before printing a batch so the start and finish markers stay clear.
